Meet Draven

A Little About Draven:

I have a sickness of using corny puns.

Or using song lyrics in conversations.

Demolition derbies, drag races, and the sweet sound of a muscle car's V8 brings out the redneck in me.

Good anime and console games bring out the geek in me.

I am not a morning person.

Very much a night owl.

I'm talking it's 2am and my brain is functioning at it's creative best.

Especially if I'm listening to 80's rock.

Or Kpop.

Or Bollywood.

Speaking of music, I love dancing, especially swing dancing...because it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing...

I grew up in the 'burbs of PA with a bro and sis and was a total tomboy.

Childhood revolved around flying my bike off of ramps.

And very competitive capture the flag.

And having contests to see who could withstand the most warhead candies in their mouth.

It was great.

I dreamed of being a Storm Chaser. Detective. Writer. Teacher. Artist.

Eventually, I determined that I wanted to be involved in filmmaking.

I left my home state and worked on the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank.

My lunch breaks were spent walking around the back lots of fake towns and cities.

And sneaking onto sets of the West Wing, Gilmore Girls, and ER.

To say it was amazing would be an understatement.

Wanting to establish a filmmaking community in my home state, I moved back.

Married my awesome Karl.

Worked what I thought was a great full-time media job, but it sucked the life out of me.

I quit the job.

Made several short films and had premieres and entered film festivals.

We moved to our rental house and I turned my creative energies towards our house.

Discovered a love for tackling home projects and decorating

Currently learning to balance my time between film projects, home projects, and blogging.
